I really liked Rose Byrne’s character, Moira MacTaggart, in X-Men: First Class (and no, it’s not because of the scene where she stripped to her underwear in the Hellfire Club) (honest), she was the one who brought them together, in essence forming the X-Men. And she was given a raw deal at the end with her memory being wiped by Charles.
However, chatting to EW, producer Simon Kinberg confirmed she will be back, despite being totally absent from Days of Future Past; he said that MacTaggart is “a significant character in the [Apocalyspe]. We ended First Class with Charles having wiped portions of her memory of her experience with the X-Men. They are, essentially, strangers to her when she meets them.”
He also said that Xavier and MacTaggart will have more romantic moments, building on what went before: “It’s certainly a rich relationship that we started to dig into in First Class, and would like to mine more in this one.”
He added once more that, as he has said in the past, Apocalysoe is essentially the end of a trilogy: “[Apocalypse] is the completion of the first arcs of Charles, Eric, Raven, and Hank, who are essentially our main characters. They’re such young actors and young characters, so there’s a lot more story to tell. But as a first phase of their lives, there is this feeling of closure by the end of the movie.”
X-Men: Apocalypse is due on May 27th, 2016.
