Scarlett Johansson reveals how many major Marvel characters will feature in Avengers: Infinity War

June 18th, 2017 by Marc Comments

So, to the surprise of pretty much no-one, it looks like Avengers: Infinity War is going to be a pretty packed movie.

Basically the climax of the MCU movies up to that point, the movie will see The Avengers teaming up with The Guardians of the Galaxy, Spider-man, Dr Strange and more to face-off against Thanos, the ultimate evil in the galaxy.

So, needless to say, there’s going to be a lot of characters fighting for screen time but we hadn’t really given any thought to just HOW many.

Scarlett Johansson, appearing with Stephen Colbert on the Late Show, revealed just how many characters will be running around the Russo brothers’ two-parter: “At one point I do think that the Infinity Wars there are, I think at one point 61 or 62 Marvel characters in it,” she said.

An understandably impressed Colbert asked if they will all be seen together and she says no, but in “one particular scene, there’s like 32 of us.”

Of the characters we’re confident will return, we have: Black Widow, Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hawkeye, Hulk, Black Panther, Scarlet Witch, Vision, Falcon, War Machine, Ant-Man, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Valkyrie, Winter Soldier, Star-Lord, Gamora, Nebula, Drax, Groot, Rocket, Mantis, Nick Fury, Maria Hill, Dora Milaje, Wasp, Captain Marvel.

That’s 29 right there. We’d also love to see Punisher, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Cage in there too, but only time will tell if that’s to be… and let’ not forget Agents of SHIELD and the Inhumans too. This is Marvel’s chance to really tie it all together and where better than in the battle for the galaxy itself?

So, what say you, can that many characters even be allowed to breathe in two movies? Let s know your thoughts…

Oh, and here’s an image from the movie shared by the Russos themselves… what could it be?

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
