So, despite all the ‘Asa Butterfield has the Spidey role’ rumours (here), it looks like Marvel and Sony are still deciding on who shall be the MCU’s Peter Parker/fiendly neighbourhood Spider-man after all.

It looks like six young actors were testing for the very coveted role yesterday –  and yes, Butterfield was in there too. The actors in question were:

Tom Holland (The Impossible), Asa Butterfield (Ender’s Game), Judah Lewis (Demolition), Matthew Lintz (Pixels), Charlie Plummer (Boardwalk Empire) and Charlie Rowe (Red Band Society).

The tests occurred in Atlanta where Captain America: Civil War is currently filming.

The decision on the actors is expected to be made early next week, however (although unlikely) there is always a chance none of them will be suitable which means the search will begin again.

We’ll keep you posted.
