Aw, yeeeeeeeeahhhhhh!

Some good news for fans of Spider-man today as it seems that Spider-man: Into The Spider-verse 2 has officially gone into production!

Animator Nick Kondo took to Twitter (below) to tell everyone that it’s his “First day on the job!” with the teaser trailer for Spider-verse 2 attached.

And, honestly, this is a little ray of sunshine.

While we don’t know much about the plot of the sequel to the 2018 comic book adventure, we do know that the first movie was a stone-cold cracker and we’re excited to revisit the world of Miles Morales’ Spidey and whatever whacky adventures he gets up to.

And, just between us, I strongly suspect that we’re going to get a hint at a much larger world in the sequel involving Sony’s three live-action Spider-men, Toby Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland (here).

Whatever it entails, we’re just excited to know we’re going into the Spider-verse again in April 8th, 2022 and the ball is already rolling on that.

What about you guys? Excited? Let me know your thoughts, gang…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
