Well, we’ve heard from just about everyone else regarding a return to their original roles for Star Wars: Episode VII, so now its time for C-3PO to get in on the act. While speaking with Digital Spy, Anthony Daniels, the man who has donned the golden droid suit for all six Star Wars films, hints at a possible return for his character as well. Though he doesn’t really come out and say anything, he seemed that he was speaking with a ‘wink, wink’. Here’s what the actor had to say:
“Look, it’s all very early days and I don’t want to wear anybody out by speculating or letting you waste your energy by saying ‘What do you think?’…I’m certainly not sitting by the phone, but it’s always nice when it rings. Do you know what I mean?”
Um, yeah…we know exactly what you mean Anthony. The actor did point to one important event coming up for more information on Episode VII, Celebration Europe, saying, “There’ll probably be the odd talk about it.”
Daniels also had some things to say about the choice of J.J. Abrams as director, saying, “The old Star Trek thing is pretty good isn’t it?…He clearly knows how to make it all work and put it all together. But again that’s pie-in-the-sky to a certain extent that is the future.”
Star Wars Celebration runs from July 26-28th in Essen, Germany with Anthony Daniels slated to appear.
