For some (me!), the SHAZAM! movie on DC’s slate of films is a long awaited dream come true. That goes double for Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, who has not been shy in expressing his love of Black Adam, Shazam’s arch-rival/nemesis. Black Adam is actually considered one of the best villains in the DC universe, especially after recent incarnations have shown him more as an anti-hero than straight up villain.
According to The Rock, this is the approach they’ll be taking in the movie:
“Can’t wait to play BLACK ADAM. We’ll find that anti-hero balance of ruthless rip your throat out w/ wonderful charm.. #ROCKTALK”
Very cool. While it’s true the SHAZAM! movie doesn’t come until 2019, it’s still nice to hear that there is already a lot of thought going into what this film will be about.
