OK HP Lovecraft fans, prepare to get excited… there’s a new movie based on his work coming…
Although, it may not exactly b the one you were hoping for.
Richard Stanley, director of Hardware and Dust Devil, will return to directing for the first time since 1992 to do the work of Lovecraft some justice. His chosen book? The Colour Out Of Space…
The story of a meteor that crashes into earth and sends everyone insane, will be written by Stanley and produced by indie horror company SpectreVision.
“H.P. Lovecraft is the undisputed father of literary horror, and yet, bafflingly, there has yet to be a cinematic treatment that captures the dark beauty of the man’s oeuvre,” said SpectreVision cofounder Daniel Noah.
“Richard Stanley’s note perfect adaptation of Color Out of Space represents an epiphany for me — as it no doubt will be for legions of Lovecraft devotees around the world.”
The movie is due to film early next year…
Could this be the first in a troop of Lovecraftian tales? We certainly hope so…
