UK top ten box office countdown (WE 28th April 2014)

May 1st, 2014 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

Nothing could shift The Amazing Spider-man 2 from the top spot this week despite very tough competition from one of the new films (an unlikely one at that).

When it comes to new releases in this week’s top ten it’s a bit of a strange mix as two films made their way into the top ten and a live event got in there as well. Firstly, the live event which was opera Cosi Fan Tutte: Met Opera which found its way into the number seven spot from only one day’s takings. When it comes to the new films at number three was Sci-Fi drama Transcendence and at number two was comedy The Other Woman.

New Releases – A lot of new films will be trying to get their way into next week’s chart, one film however is not eligible to make it into next week’s top ten despite it being released this Saturday and that’s comedy Bad Neighbours. The new films that can be counted include animated film Tarzan 3D, the latest epic from Paul WS Anderson, Pompeii, British comedy thriller Plastic and Paul Walker in over the top action film Brick Mansions.
