While we’ve pretty much known for sometime that by the time Thanos reaches earth for Avengers: Infinity War Parts I & II (or whatever they’re called by then) the Guardians of the Galaxy won’t be too far behind, with them and the Avengers teaming up again the mad tyrant.

Well now, on his personal Facebook page, Vin Diesel, the voice of Groot, has confirmed that they will indeed all meet up for the big finale against Thanos: “Now, the Guardians will be included in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and that’s incredibly exciting. You were told before everybody.”

Diesel was keen to say that he felt his appearance as everyone’s favourite tree came from the fans: “That whole concept started from you all saying, ‘When are you going to be in a Marvel movie?’” he said.

Are you excited to see the two teams meet up against a common enemy? Or is that just a silly question?

Let us know…

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 will smash to earth on May 5th, 2017.

Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
