Warners developing a Supergirl movie…

August 7th, 2018 by Marc Comments

We don’ know who made the image above, but it’s great… if you know, let us know, ok?

So…..

It looks like Warner Bros and DC are lining up Kara Zoe-El AKA Supergirl to be one of the upcoming movies in the DC Cinematic universe.

Yes, it seems that 22 Jump Street and The Cloverfield Paradox (em…) writer, Oren Uziel, is working on a script to bring Supergirl to the big screen. Again.

It makes sense that Supergirl would arrive in the DCU because in the first movie in the franchise, Man Of Steel, Clark discovers an empty pod on the Kryptonian ship and it was always assumed that it would be Kara:

Now, we know what you’re all thinking… but what about Man Of steel 2… but, we saw Teen Titans GO! To The Movies at the weekend and in it, Superman – Nicholas Cage – says he’s had a load of movies based on him and then slyly adds that more are coming. So, relax.

But, more interestingly, Clark/Kal-El’s struggle in the DC movies is being the last of his kind… the last Kryptonian. So, imagine how finding Kara could change his story? It could add to him being the Superman we saw – albeit poorly handled  – in Justice League. Organically.

We’ve been hearing for a while that a plan is to get Henry Cavill involved in future DC movies as Superman in a role that will see him bringing together future members of the Justice League… this could tie in with the rumours that he’ll be in the Shazam! movie and we can really see him in a Supergirl movie as a mentor, teaching Kara how to use her abilities and fitting into human society.

And yes, we’re confident a Man of Steel sequel movie is coming…

He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
