WATCH: Bambi: The Reckoning teaser arrives as Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble and Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3 announced

April 6th, 2024 by Marc Comments

Well, I love a good horror and/shared universe as much as the next Nerdy type but this was not on my 2024 movie bingo card. At all.

Yes, following on from the success of Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey last year and the shockingly positive reviews of the second movie in cinemas right now, ITN Studios & Jagged Edge Productions have announced the Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble or, more colourfully, the Twisted Childhood Universe, consisting of popular children’s characters who have now come into the public domain and are being changed from kiddy stories to stomach-churning horror outings.

Made up of Bambi: The Reckoning, Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare and Pinocchio Unstrung and introducing ‘new’ characters such as Tinkerbell, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, Tigger, Piglet, The Mad Hatter and Sleeping Beauty.

No, really.

Actually, I think it’s a really fun idea and I’m hearing very positive things about the second Pooh movie so, if it’s floating peoples’ boats, than more power to it.

Producer of Jagged Edge Productions Rhys Frake-Waterfield said of the Avengersesque event next year: “It will be complete carnage. We are heavily influenced by Freddy vs Jason and The Avengers.

“We would love to see a horror movie where the villains group together and are going after their survivors. We have some incredible set pieces in mind and some sequences I think will truly shock people. The movies we are working on now as stand-alones are all building towards Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble.”

WATCH: Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey is the nasty horror movie no-one asked for…

Scott Chambers, Producer of Jagged Edge Production, went on: “Similar to The Avengers we will follow Pooh, Tigger, Rabbit, Owl, Piglet, Pinocchio, Sleeping Beauty, Bambi, The Mad Hatter, Peter Pan and Tinkerbell joining forces to wreak havoc. We are working with a larger scale budget on this one and are excited for what the future will hold. When you see the stand-alone movies you will see the easter eggs hinting toward the crossover. Some of the villains also will not see eye to eye which will allow for some carnage within the group in some epic sequence of monster vs monster.”

I don’t even care for these type of splatter movies and I think this sounds like a lot of fun.

After the second Pooh movie, we’re getting Bambi: The reckoning and we even have a teaser already, which is right below:

Not included in the official Poohniverse line-up, which you can see below, is Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3, which is now in production after the positive reviews of part two… wait, is this Phase II?

The movie will be directed by Rhys Frake-Waterfield with a cast including Scott Chambers returning as Christopher Robin, Megan Plactio as Wendy Darling, Roxanne Mckee as Xana, Lewis Santer as Tigger.

The movie will reportedly have a bigger budget than parts one and two and will include twisted versions of Rabbit, the heffalumps and the woozles.

So, there you have it. Personally, I blame the success of the Terrifier movies but, look, if this is your thing, then you deserve to have as much fun as the Marvel fans or the Star Wars fans, so have at it, that’s what I say.

Poohniverse will release in 2025, as for all the rest, we’ll keep you posted.
