Ok, so I really enjoyed the first two Poirot movies starring Kenneth Brannagh [2017’s Murder on the Orient Express and 2022’s Death on the Nile,] and I fully expected a third one to arrive fairly soon… but what I didn’t expect was for it to be a ghost story!
Yes, the trailer for A Haunting in Venice has arrived at CinemaCon and as well as being directed by Brannagh and based on an Agatha Christie novel called Hallowe’en Party, and I’m shocked to see Brannagh’s Hercule Poirot confronted by ghosts!
Honestly, I love this idea of taking this character and putting him in the middle of a story – a genre? – that I would never would have imagined him being in… horror!
I’m all the way in on this and, just in case I needed a little more persuasion, Michelle Yeoh is in there too.
Perfect.
