Following on from Jason Momoa officially joining the new DCU, no longer as Aquaman, but as a character he’s loved his whole life, Lobo, the intergalactic mercenary, we now have a new reveal posted by Momoa himself.

The star posted a video of him reading the script for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, labelled ‘For Lobo’s Eyes Only’, confirming that it’s most likely that on July 26th, 2026 well first meet Lobo when he goes up against Milly Alcock’s Supergirl on the big screen.

Batman and Gotham City make official DCU debut and we have loads of details and news

On top of this, we reported when Momoa’s new role was confirmed, that John Wick and Deadpool 2 director David Leitch had tagged Momoa on social media, expressing interest in directing a Lobo movie and guess what? He’s done it again.

Yes, when Momoa posted the new video, Leitch replied, writing: “Lobo solo movie :)? I’m in JM! It’s a story we were born to tell This character is all you.”

Is this more than just wishful thinking? Does Leitch know something we haven’t been told yet? We know James Gunn has greenlit projects we’ve not been informed about already, could a Lobo movie be one of them? We’ll have to wait and see.

Aquaman no more: Jason Momoa officially joins James Gunn’s DCU as Lobo

It is expected that Momoa will appear as Lobo in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow due in cinemas on June 26th, 2026.

House of the Dragon star Milly Alcock will play Supergirl in the movie with Matthias Schoenaerts as villain Krem of the Yellow Hill, the movie will be directed by Craig Gillespie and was written by Ana Nogueira; the movie is set to start filming on January 13th, which is probably why Momoa was announced now, a fortnight before filming begins.

Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars.
