The trailer is here for The Wrath of the Gods, the third movie in The Wicker Man trilogy.
Many people know the iconic 1973 folk horror classic, The Wicker Man, starring Edward Woodward as a Christian police officer sent to the island of Summerisle, where his faith and very life are put in danger by Christopher Lee’s Lord Summerisle and the pagan traditions of the island that he has unwittingly walked into.
Still, few know that there was a sequel in 2011 called The Wicker Tree, which saw Lee return to the role shortly before his death and fewer still know that the series was a planned trilogy and now, almost fifteen years after development started, we finally have the trailer for Wrath of the Gods.

Wrath of the Gods, is a new British folk horror film from Emmy and BAFTA-nominated director Justin Hardy, who sadly passed away in July this year, and inspired by a concept discovered in a recently unearthed script written by his late father, The Wicker Man director Robin Hardy.
Wrath of the Gods stars Francis Magee (Game of Thrones, Black Mirror, Layer Cake and The Tourist), alongside rising Norwegian actress Christiane Schaldemose and an almost entirely street-cast supporting cast from Shetland.
A young, grieving widow Anna, returns to Hel Island to bury her late husband after his suicide. She is cast out by the eccentric locals for being a symbol of bad luck and evil. When children start going missing, the island is forced to reckon with its dark history of familial abuse and the terrifying beast-like forces of the sea.
The movie premiered on August 28th at Frightfest 2026 and we’re still waiting on an official release date for the rest of the world.
