WATCH: Zendaya ‘can’t confirm or deny’ Garfield and Maguire Spider-man return…

If you’ve been with us for the last few months, you’ll know there’s a Marvel Multiverse coming to the MCU in the near future, kicking off with the Disney+ Wandavision series and then with the Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness but it looks like it’s not just ending there.

When we heard that Jamie Foxx had been cast (here) as the MCU’s Electro – who he played in Amazing Spider-man 2 – joining JK Simmons who returned in Spider-man Far From Home last year, we started thinking there was something going on.

And then the rumours started that Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield might both be returning as the Spider-men from other worlds (here) and so it looked like Sony and Marvel might be bringing us a live-action Into the Spider-verse (and who could blame them? It was the best comic book movie maybe ever).

So, during the week, star Zendaya, left – who is returning as MJ for the third MCU Spider-man – appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel Show and Kimmel asked her in several witty ways if Garfield and Maguire were in the movie and she dodged the questions as best she could but the most she said on the issue was that she could neither ‘confirm nor deny’ the rumours when Kimmel asked: “Is it called Spider-Man 3 because there are three Spider-Men in the movie?”.

Now, ok, she didn’t confirm anything… but why didn’t she just say that they weren’t in the movie? Personally, the hoper/dreamer in me is kinda taking this as confirmation that they are set for the movie in some way, shape or form.

You can check out the full interview below.

So, what do you all think? Does Zendaya know more than she can say? Am I imagining things? Let me know your thoughts, guys…

He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
