Ok, so we ran the story last week that a new Labyrinth movie is in the works, remember?

We didn’t know if it was set to be a sequel or a reboot as few details were revealed. We did know that Jim Henson company is involved and Guardians of the Galaxy co-writer Nicole Perlman was on scripting duties.

Well now Perlman has taken to Twitter to assure fans that it’s not a reboot and she’s horrified that people think they’re capitalising on the death of original movie star David Bowie: “Guys, please don’t fall for all the clickbait, no one is remaking Labyrinth. That movie is perfect as is.

“I would never seek to profit from Bowie’s death.”

While Perlman calls the articles clickbait, that’s a little unfair because the movie IS happening. So we have to assume now that it will be a sequel (as we reported it might be).

Will it focus on Toby, the child kidnapped by Bowie’s Goblin King, perhaps? Will Jennifer Connelly return? Will they recast Bowie’s Goblin King or focus elsewhere? Who knows, but the speculation has begun…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
