Ok, so Marvel movie boss Kevin Feige told us last week that there were no plans to bring Fantastic Four into the MCU fold, despite two failed attempts at a franchise over at FOX.
We all know that if FOX don’t continue to make FF movies then Marvel WILL get the rights back.
So, guess what?
Yup, it looks like a new Fantastic Four franchise is in development and you’re going to be as surprised as we are about this one:
“Instead, it will concentrate on Franklin and Valeria, the children of Reed Richards and Susan Storm. While still having the Thing and the Human Torch along for the ride.
“Indeed, the whole movie will be kid-centric with a vibe far more reminiscent of The Incredibles. In an instant, this will totally separate the movie from the previous failed attempt. But also mean there’s no actual need for a reboot. And, yes, we know this is full of generics.”
The movie is reportedly being penned by Seth Grahame-Smith who worked on the last FF movie although wasn’t credited on that one. He also co-wrote the novel Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter.
So there you have it; they tried the pretty inoffensive all-round approach with the first two FF movies, they went dark and adult with the last one and now they’re going with the kids’ version.
Try, try, try again…
