Great Scott! Transformers and Back to the Future crossover teased!

June 28th, 2020 by Marc Comments

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy…

You may recall last February when Transformers and Ghostbusters were first announced as crossing over (here) and how excited we got here and how, not only did we get the very cool toys, but we also got a great comic from IDW created by our favourite comics team of Erik Burnham and Dan Schoening (here).

Well, it’s happening again as the official Transformers Instagram has shared the  image above, teasing a Transformers/Back to the Future crossover.

Now, we obviously don’t know what this entails but I’d say it’s a safe bet we’ll get a DeLorean Transformer toy (I’d love a Decepticon to stand off against Ectotron and Optimus Prime – the Ghostbusters ‘Bots – and let’s be honest, wouldn’t time travel be something the Decepticons would crave?) but, if you recall, we also got the Ghostbusters/Transformers comic left on a cliff hanger, so I’m almost sure we’ll see that story picked up and given a Back to the Future twist.

Anyway, that’s all we know for now (which, sadly, is nothing) but as soon as we hear more, so will you all.

Meanwhile, check out Saxon’s awesome review of my Ectotron figure and get ready for Back to the Future, Transformers and Ghostbusters to all meet up.

Goddamn, it’s good to be alive, sometimes!

Let me know your thoughts, gang… who would you like to see meet the Transformers next? Let me know in all the usual ways.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
