Arthur Suydam, artist of ‘Empire of the Dead’, has announced that the Marvel comic, written by George A. Romero, is coming to AMC.

Suydam said: “This just got signed to AMC. The new big zombie series on AMC is expected to be this one right here.”

AMC isn’t shy of the zombie franchise with The Walking Dead being one of the most expensive and most watched shows on television and the new Fear the Walking Dead expending this universe even further. Therefore when it comes to a Zombie apocalypse they certainly know what they are doing.

However the comic series also introduced Vampires into the mix so it will be interesting to see how AMC deals with them.

Romero is set to write the series with Peter Grunwald. With both of them executive producing the series as well.

The mini-series, which was released in January 2014, had over 15 issues before ending in August of this year.
