Get ready for the new daily show

Legends of Tomorrow Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim talks new team members…

If you’re not caught up with the current season of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow on The CW then we have to warn you that here be spoilers….

Ready? Ok…

So, during the massive Crisis on Earth-X crossover of The CW shows we had the death of Martin Stein (Victor Garber) and this resulted in Jax (Franz Drameh), the other half of the Firestorm team, leaving the Legends for good.

And it was all pretty emotional stuff.

However, as one door closes, another opens…

And, as fans, we were left wondering if the Legends would recruit replacement team members; we’ve actually made the case several times that we believed Matt Ryan as John Constantine would be a natural fit in the team (here) given that he will be appearing in the show next year.

On the empty seats on the Waverider, Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim said the new member would be “A previously established character from the Arrowverse.”

He continued: “We do have a plan for how to replace Firestorm on the bridge, and it’s a really cool one. It’s one we’re really excited about. There’s really like two empty chairs on the Waverider. So we do have a game plan. We’ve always had a game plan. I just can’t talk about the game plan. The CW publicity will determine when we get to unleash that bit of news.”

While many assumed that perhaps Russell Tovey’s The Ray (from the crossover event) may be a likely team member too, Guggenheim explained that the actor is far too busy with ABC’s Quantico to join the show.

So who is the other candidate? Well, while we don’t know for sure, the big rumour is that Kid-Flash Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale) who has been seriously cut back on his screen time on The Flash, may be the man for the job.

So, who do you think is likely to get the gig? Let us know your thoughts and we’ll keep you posted as and when we hear more…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
