Mega Man is easily one of the most recognisable figures in video games. Since his debut in 1986, the character has reached a level of popularity that many creators can only dream of. Be it through the games, toys, appearances of television shows or any number of merchandise, Mega Man is certainly an iconic figure.

It would seem that Dentsu Entertainment USA and Man of Action Entertainment agree with this, as they are attempting to bring Mega Man to the small screen, yet again. According to a report from Deadline, the two companies are going to develop a 26 episode animated series based on Capcom’s blue bomber.

The report highlights that they hope to have the series ready for release in 2017. This would coincide with the character’s 30th Anniversary. Little is known about any potential plots yet for the series, though it is a safe bet we will see familiar characters such as Doctor Light and his arch nemesis Doctor Willy along for the ride.
