In more CW news, we have new images from Arrow Season 5 and they feature the new villain, dubbed Prometheus…

And he looks bad ass.

But who is he?

Well, we know he’s tied into Oliver Queen’s history before he became the Arrow and will have a big impact this season, perhaps even going so far as to reveal a very big secret to the citizens of Star City from his past, but that still doesn’t make anything clear.

We’re going to go all out here and say we think it’s Tommy Merlyn.

Wut?

Well, we know Tommy likes to pop up from time to time on the show (here) and given that the character is such a big part of Oliver’s past plus  and Tommy’s dad was The Dark Archer and is currently Ra’s Al Ghul and there’s the Lazarus Pit, we just reckon there’s several ways he could return.

Or, what of the events of Barry Allen’s Flashpoint event in The Flash somehow brings Tommy back? Whatever happens, we can’t help feeling it’s who’s under that hood.

So, needless to say, we’re probably completely wrong.

Also, interestingly, Arrow and Flash co-showrunner Todd Hellbing said recently that The Flash Season 3 will see old familiar – but dead – faces return: “There are different characters that you will see, some [that have] passed, [there is] a lot of Easter egg stuff that’s a lot of fun.”

Now undoubtedly that could refer to Eddie Thawne or the first Harrison Wells and is probably because of the events of lash point, but what if that spreads across to Arrow? We’ll know soon enough…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
