In a new interview with the BBC (here) Peter Capaldi, The Doctor himself, was asked about returning villains and he drops an interesting hint about Cybermen in the upcoming season.

He is asked about the return of the Daleks (“I won’t say. There may be, there may not be,” he says, although they are clearly back as they can be seen in the new teaser trailer (below)) and he’s asked about the Yeti – who he’d love to see return but when he’s asked about the Cybermen, he cryptically says: “There may be. There may be a different kind of Cyberman.”

What does this mean? Well, fans of Who will know that the new series (well from Tennant onwards) have featured the Cybermen from an other dimension, created by genius John Lumic, whereas the original Cybermen hailed from the planet Mondas.

So we’re wondering if it might be the return of the Mondas Cybermen we’ll see this year in Series 10?

Who knows, so long as the show can improve on the last lacklustre couple of seasons, we’ll not complain.

Let us know your thoughts folks and, in the meantime, here’s the teaser for the new series:

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
