So, I have reported before on actor Sean Pertwee and that time he dressed up like his father’s – John Pertwee – incarnation of The Doctor from Doctor Who (below).
I I’ve said it would be great to have him return as the third incarnation of the character in some form in new Who.
And now Pertwee has confirmed that, yes, he has been approached about being on the show.
Sean Pertwee says he’s been approached about appearing in Doctor Who
The son of Third Doctor Jon Pertwee says he’d be keen to play “an evil son or something weird” in the BBC sci-fi series
“I should be careful what I say,” the actor told Doctor Who Magazine, “but there were noises made about me being involved in some capacity.
“I would very much like to do that, as an ode to my father, if I was lucky enough to be asked.”
But the actor seems like he doesn’t want to just go down the obvious road and play his dad: “People will focus on it, because of my relationship with the Doctor Who family,” he goes on, “so it would have to be something a little more interesting… an evil son or something weird.”
“You figure it out. I don’t know what, but I would like to do something, as an ode to my dad. I really would.”
I, for one, would love to see the third Doctor return, but it would be cool just to see Sean Pertwee step into the show that made his dad a legend.
