Timothy Olyphant joins The Mandalorian season 2 in mystery role

May 16th, 2020 by Marc Comments

More exciting news for Star Wars fans as another cool piece of casting has been announced for the upcoming season 2 of The Mandalorian.

Joining the newly added Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano, Temeura Morrison as Boba Fett and Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan, it seems that Justified and Santa Clara Diet star Timothy Olyphant as also joined the cast.

Although, we say joined, when in fact all the episodes for season 2 have already been filmed, we’re just getting the details now.

As for who Olyphant will play, well… no word.

Is he a new character? Is he a recast old character? We have no idea… although, I’m putting it out there, I always liked the idea of Olyphant playing a Han Solo-esque character in Star Wars, so I’m putting it out there, I hope he’s playing Talon Karrde from Timothy Zahn’s Thrawn trilogy.

Robert Rodriguez and Peyton Reed have directed episodes alongside season one returning directors Dave Filloni and show creator Jon Favreau.

As I say, I have no idea who Olyphant is set to play, but as a long-time fan of his, I hope it’s not a one-and-done role.

Let me know all your thought, nerds and nerdettes.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars.
