A new promo has arrived for Season 3 of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and it promises a big crossover with the animated Vixen series from CW Seed.

The series, which was released online over two seasons, was aired just this week as a standalone animated movie and now we know why (here).

In the new promo (below) executive producer Marc Guggenheim says that a big crossover with the Vixen series is coming as they will be featuring the villain Kuasa from the series –  a first in The CW shows to have an animated villain appear for real – and, unless we’re mistaken, it looks like she is to be played by Anika Noni Rose, the actress who voiced her in the animated show.

He also teased that we may finally see the return of Mari McCabe’s version of Vixen. McCabe was played in the animated show by actress Megalyn Echikunwoke who later appeared in Arrow Season four in the same role; she was also set to be Vixen in Legends of Tomorrow (here) until scheduling issues forced her to pull out.

After this the role was recast as Amaya Jiwe, played by Maisie Richardson-Sellers, who is the grandmother of McCabe (timey-wimey, huh?).

But now it looks like we will get a meeting of the two Vixens on screen as Guggenheim said he’s “hoping for a more protracted meeting of the Vixens, later in the season. Stay tuned.”!

Man, we LOVE The CW’s Arrowverse!

Legends of Tomorrow season 3 wrecks time on October 10th.
