May 14th, 2023 by Marc Comments

Last night during The Eurovision Song Contest, the BBC dropped the trailer for the upcoming Doctor Who 60th Anniversary event and it looks great.

We had the reveal of the three-part event’s titles and they sound pretty epic and [returning] showrunner Russell T Davies has been discussing them and their significance.

The titles are:

Special One: THE STAR BEAST
Special Two: WILD BLUE YONDER
Special Three: THE GIGGLE

“The titles are just the beginning of the Doctor’s biggest adventure yet.  Autumn is coming, with three hours of danger, Donna and disaster about to be unleashed!” Davies says.

The crossover event will see our generation’s [arguably] most iconic Doctor return in the form of David Tennant and it’s expected that they will lead into the next Doctor, Ncuti Gatwa, who is expected to make his grand debut in a Christmas Day special, something that we’ve not had since Peter Capaldi stepped down from the role and it’s something we here are FTN HQ are very excited for.

It’s also very cool that my personal favourite companion, Donna Noble, played by Catherine Tate, will also be coming back for one more adventure.

Oh, and Murray Gold, who composed the Doctor Who music from Eccleston to Capaldi’s era is returning too!

What exactly the episode title alludes to is currently unknown but isn’t it great to know that, even in this day and age, we can be surprised by something like Doctor Who?

Anyways, we still don’t have a release date for the episodes but my money is on it kicking off the weekend either before or after November 23rd – the actual anniversary date – but I could be wrong.

When I hear more, so will you guys.

Thoughts? I know you have them! Voice-off in the usual ways on FTN’s FacebookTwitter and Instagram
