We finally have a trailer for Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge, the new Star Wars game show (yes, you heard right) and a bit of a surprise.
The series was originally created for the Disney+ streaming service but it seems that it will now be available to all Star Wars fans and not just those subscribed to the channel.
The show will now appear on StarWarsKids.com and the official Star Wars Kids YouTube channel and the thinking behind it is that, since it’s primarily made for and starring children, it would be a fun idea to make it available to everyone in these stressful times.
And, on top of that, the cool keeps coming as it will feature Jar Jar Binks actor Ahmed Best’s return to Star Wars as a completely new character, Jedi Master Kelleran Beq who will train the Padawan learners in the show.
He will be helped by protocol droid companion, AD-3, voiced by Veep’s Mary Holland, and, adding the scary, Sam Witwer will play the voice of the Dark Side in the show, there to defeat the young hopefuls.
Lucasfilm’s senior director of Online Content & Programming Mickey Capoferri said of the decision to steam online rather than on Disney+: “With so many children and families home and looking to Star Wars for hope and entertainment, we wanted to make Jedi Temple Challenge available to as many young fans as possible by airing the series on our Star Wars Kids network for everyone to enjoy.”
Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge arrives this Wednesday, June 3rd.
