Woah! John Wesley Shipp is back in the Arrowverse crossover as the 90s Flash in these new images!

Oh man, how awesome is the Arrowverse crossover, Elseworlds, going to be?!

Arrow star Stephen Amell shared the above image on his Twitter last night of himself as Flash, Grant Gustin as Arrow, Melissa Benoist as Supergirl and… John Wesley Shipp as the 1990s Flash?!

Yup, the two main heroes are swapped in the image as reported here but the biggest surprise is that Shipp is back in the Flash suit from the 90s TV Series! (Continues after pic)

Shipp is no stranger to The Arrowverse, having previously played both Jay Garrick and Henry Allen, but now it seems he’s back as the version of the character he played in the old TV series.

So, what is going on in this new crossover?! Well, with the news last week that the event will see a return to an iconic location from the Smallville series (here) we thought maybe it meant Smallville was finally being made Arrowverse canon, but now we think the series will see the Arrowverse interact with other DC shows from the past hence… Elseworlds.

Does this mean we may also see Tom Welling in the Superman suit? At this stage it wouldn’t surprise us if Micheal Keaton turned up as Batman. Hey, a nerd can hope, can’t he?

Oh, we also got a better look at Tyler Hoechlin’s black Superman suit and it looks pretty damn good!

Scroll down for loads of goodness!
