Elizabeth Olsen finally confirms Scarlet Witch role in Avengers: Age of Ultron

November 11th, 2013 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

It’s been rumored since August and was even basically confirmed by Samuel L. Jackson, but now Elizabeth Olsen has confirmed with MTV that she will indeed play Wanda Maximoff, aka The Scarlet Witch, in the Joss Whedon’s upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron. She spoke about acting alongside Aaron Taylor-Johnson once again, whom she star stars with in the recently completed Godzilla. So she basically confirms him as well, although we pretty much knew that.

Here’s what she told the site:

“We get to play husband and wife, and we get to play twin brother and sister. It’s also fun because even though in ‘Godzilla’ we play husband and wife, we don’t have a lot of scenes together. I just love him. I love his family. I love his kids. I’m so excited we get to work with each other more and to actually work with each other. I think it’s going to be fun.”

When asked if she’d seen any concept art or costumes for the film she replied:

“No, I just know about it. It’s been talked about, and it’s so fun.”

You can watch the interview with Olsen here:

The Joss Whedon sequel stars Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Elizabeth Olsen, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and James Spader.

Avengers: Age of Ultron is set for release on May 1, 2015.
