After the Suicide Squad official trailer was released last week and drove fans over the edge with hysterical excitement, many have started wondering about some of the as-yet unidentified roles.

The main characters of the cast have been long revealed with Jared Leto portraying the Joker, Will Smith as Deadshot, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Karen Fukuhara as Katana, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, Jay Hernandez as El Diablo, Adam Beach as Slipknot, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller.

However, there’s still mystery roles for Ike Barinholtz, Scott Eastwood, Raymond Olubowale, Alex Meraz, Jim Parrack, and Common and it’s Eastwood’s that is arousing the most debate.

The biggest rumor to come up is the possibility that he plays Dick Grayson AKA Agent 37 AKA Nightwing AKA the first Robin in the film. According to Comicbook.com, the reason behind Eastwood’s unknown role is that it could possibly be the biggest reveal in the film where Dick Grayson goes undercover in among the villainous crew Suicide Squad, working for Ben Affleck’s Batman – who is also due to appear briefly in the film.

There have also been rumours that Eastwood is playing Deathstroke but, as ComicBook.com point out, that character isn’t known for concealing himself quite like Dick Grayson. Considering the timeframe of the DC Extended Universe, Nightwing is the most plausible candidate for Eastwood. Nightwing is the darker persona adopted by Batman’s sidekick, Robin, who was portrayed by Chris O’Donnell in Batman Forever and Batman & Robin in 1995 and 1997 respectively.

We know that Robin number two, Jason Todd was probably killed by Joker in the movie universe – to presumably be explored in a later movie – so therefore the first Robin must be out there and is probably Nightwing. We know this because of the Robin Suit seen in the comic con trailer for Batman V Superman (here) at the  two minute mark.

In an interview with Eastwood by eonline.com, he said that the film’s director David Ayer has a lot of revelations that will keep fans guessing until they finally watch it in cinemas. Eastwood said that Ayer “is doing something the world will be really surprised about.” Oh wow!

He also spoke about the incredible work ethic Jared Leto had when he played the Joker. “I was sort of afraid to approach him because I didn’t want to mess with his thing going on,” Eastwood said.

“But I knew him before. I met him before he was The Joker. I just met him as Jared Leto. So I didn’t know if I wanted to mess up his thing.”
