Disney+ shares Hugh Jackman/Wolverine tweet to mark D23 countdown

September 4th, 2022 by Marc Comments

So, a few days back we shared the official poster for Disney’s big D23 investor event and how it might tease things such as Andrew Garfield’s Spider-man and The Book of Boba Fett season 2 (here) and now we have a cool new tease from the house of mouse about the event.

For those who don’t know, D23 is Disney’s big show to prove to investors that they have the goods – it’s basically Disney’s own SDCC and this year we’re hoping for lots of Marvel, Star Wars and more as last year’s was a bit of a disappointment.

And if this tweet is anything to go by, there could be a big new team heading to the MCU soon and we may get our first reveal at D23 this weekend.

Marking six days to the events – yes, we’re a bit behind on this one but, you know, life – Disney+ shared a gif of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine with the iconic blades coming out of his hands – well, the bone version – with the word ‘SNIKT’ in the text, this being the iconic sound the blades make when they appear.

Kingsman star confirms Wolverine talks with Marvel

Now, yes, this might be nothing, but with the MCU really leaning into the appearance of the X-Men and mutants in the MCU, we here at FTN can’t help feeling it’s a hint of things to come.

We know that Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness just a few weeks back has Patrick Stewart as the Professor X from another reality appear and shows such as Ms Marvel and She-Hulk have had subtle but clear nods too, so we have the feeling that news is coming and now we think/hope it might be as early as this weekend,

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige recently said the X-Men would hit the MCU before “Phase 10”, so it’s definitely on the horizon. Hopefully sooner rather than later.
