With us reporting earlier tonight that the just released Superman: Man of Tomorrow is the beginning of a new DC Animated Universe, it seems that we now have a new DC animated movie that is not part of that universe… multiverses, baby, multiverse.
Batman: Soul of the Dragon will be the first DC Animated movie of 2021 and your first look is above.
The movie will be produced by Batman: The Animated Series co-creator Bruce Timm and will be an original movie set in the 1970s and will be directed by Sam Liu while it will be written by Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge’s Jeremy Adams.
In Batman: Soul of the Dragon, Bruce Wayne will reunite with three of his former classmates: Richard Dragon, Ben Turner a.k.a. Bronze Tiger, and the deadly Lady Shiva. Together, Batman and his allies will face a deadly menace from his past.
Grimm star David Giuntoli will play Bruce Wayne/Batman, while Arrow star Michael Jai White will play Ben Turner/Bronze Tiger, just as he did on Arrow.
X-Men 2 star Kelly Hu will play Lady Shiva and John Wick 3’s Mark Dacascos is Richard Dragon, Josh Keaton is Jeffrey Burr while Big Trouble in Little China legend James Hong will play O-Sensei who taught both Richard Dragon and Ben Turner.
As far as standalone entries in the multiverse goes, this sounds like it could be a lot of fun.
