Some cool news tonight for fans of Zack Snyder’s Justice League as the actress he had originally cast to play Iris West, Kiersey Clemons, is back to play the character in the upcoming The Flash movie from It director Andy Muschietti.
The actress was cast and filmed her role for the movie but was ultimately left on the cutting room floor when Whedon took the reigns but will be back for next week’s Zack Snyder’s Justice League and, on top of this, she has been hired to play Iris in The Flash movie.
All this is despite rumours in May last year that DC/Warners, in an act of completely distancing themselves from Snyder’s vision, were planning on recasting her (here).
Iris is the love interest of Barry Allen AKA The Flash, played by Ezra Miller who will be joined by Michael Keaton AND Ben Affleck, both as Batman/Bruce Wayne.
Could this be a win for Snyder’s Justice League? Well, maybe… some believe this is a sign that WB/DC are expecting a lot of positive response for Snyder’s movie and, as such, are moving ahead with some of his original vision for the DCEU… but only time will tell on that front.
Are you happy to see the Dope and Hearts Beat Loud star back in the DC universe? Let me know in all the usual ways, guys…
The Flash is scheduled to open on November 4th, 2022.
