After Michael Fassbender confirmed the Assassin’s Creed movie is still going ahead (here) despite rumours to the contrary, we’ve been waiting for more news to come… and so it begins.
Film Divider believe they have learned the setting of the new movie. They report: “Like the game, Fassbender will reportedly star in two roles – one in the present, one in the past, though the present day one will NOT be Desmond Miles. Instead he’s Michael Lynch, a death row inmate used as a pawn in the war between the Assassins and the Templars.
“He’s being experimented on by a researcher called Joseph and aided by an Assassin called Lara. The present day villain will be Templar leader and Abstergo CEO Alan Rikkin, though like the games only his voice will feature.”
The report goes on: “Aguilar de Agarorobo, an assassin during the Spanish Inquisition, whose memories Michael relives using the Animus technology. Aguilar’s father is also Master Assassin and one of the leaders of the secret organization. The past villain is also a familiar face from the previous games – Grand Inquisitor Tomas de Torquemada.”
So Assassin’s Creed fans, does this sound like it works for you or does it smell fishy? Let us know…
