With all the talk recently about the sequel to Top Gun we’ve all been wondering if we’d see Val Kilmer back as Iceman.
We currently know Cruise is back and TRON: Legacy and Oblivion director Joseph Kosinski is the favourite to direct (here) and we know that the movie won’t be called Top Gun 2 but rather it’ll be called Maverick or Top Gun: Maverick (here) but what we haven’t heard is if Kilmer would return.
Given that the movie is named Maverick after Cruise’s character we reckon it would be interesting to see how his relationship with Iceman has carried on all these years after the events of the first movie…
And now Kilmer has taken Twitter to show that after all these years, and a bout of illness in February, he’s good to go for the movie.
So come on, #TopGunNeedsIceman!
Are we right?

However, just before you get too excited, the actor was asked if he was coming back for Top Gun: Maverick and he responded in the negative:
Don’t know yet
