We reported last month that Agent Doggett wouldn’t be returning for the new X-Files series (here) and we sort of assumed that that this also included Annabeth Gish as FBI Special Agent Monica Reyes.
Well, we were wrong.
Digital Spy are reporting that: “FBI Special Agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) will cross paths with their former colleague Agent Monica Reyes in next year’s miniseries.
“The storyline reason for why Agent Reyes will meet Mulder and Scully once again remains a mystery for now.”
Reyes and Doggett were the focus of the last two seasons of the original X-Files series and with Gish back we can only hope Robert Patrick’s Agent Doggett will return too.
The more we hear, the more we really hope this series isn’t a one-off return…
