You may recall back in May that it was revealed that Tim Olyphant, who appears in The Mandalorian Season 2 will have a very special costume in the show.
Yes, it seems that he will have the armour of Boba Fett and will actually wear it in the show too (here) and now it’s been spotted in the trailer for season 2 (which you can watch here).
In the trailer we see Tusken Raiders – who live on Tattooine, the last place we saw Boba Fett in Return of the Jedi when he fell into the Sarlaac Pit – and you may also recall that in the fifth episode of season one we visit that planet and at the end we see someone is trailing the Mandalorian and many speculated it could be Fett – and in the clip in the trailer (around 1:10) we see a speeder bike disappearing into the distance with someone (Mando?) riding it and it looks like Fett’s armour is on the back of the bike:
So also say they can see his helmet on the bike too but I’m not entirely convinced of that, but that is almost certainly his rocket pack – and the rocket has been launched from it… did Fett fire it to escape the Sarlaac Pit?
It’s worth noting at this point that actor Temeura Morrison is rumoured to appear this season as both Boba Fett and Captain Rex (here) who was cloned from Boba. This is all exciting stuff and I’d say it’s a safe bet that if the armour appears, Fett escaped and will appear too.
We know that in official canon Fett didn’t die in the pit (here) and I for one am really hoping he appears here.
In the trailer we also see (at 54secs) a mysterious hooded woman appear when the Mandalorian is talking about the Jedi and, while she may be a Jedi, there is speculation that she is, in fact, Sabine Wren from the Star Wars: Rebels animated series.
The character is played by WWE’s Sasha Banks and, I have to say, it sure looks like she could be Sabine:
Sabine’s presence would make a lot of sense in the show as we’re hearing Ahsoka Tano will be played in the series by Rosario Dawson (here) and the last time we saw Ahsoka and Sabine they were together heading off to find Ezra – it’s a long story and I’d recommend you watch Rebels. It is also worth noting that Sabine is a Mandalorian, so she’d fit in, and also the Darksaber that appeared at the end of season once belonged to Sabine, so there’s many connections there.
Whatever comes from Season 2, there’s going to be much to dive into and lots to love.
I can’t wait to get back on the Razor Crest for another season.
What about you all? Let me know, folks!
