While Star Wars, on the small and big screen, is being met with mixed reactions at the minute, I can almost guarantee that there’s at least one episode of the beloved franchise that should unite the fandom.
Fresh off their Oscar wins (best original screenplay, best director and best picture), Everything All At Once directors Daniels have confirmed they are directing an episode of the Jude Law starring series Skeleton Crew about a bunch of kids, possibly younglings, lost in the galaxy who will have to find their way home; we’re guessing Law will be playing their teacher/mentor who is helping get them to safety.
The series was produced and created by MCU Spider-man director Jon Watts and is from Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, who are currently overseeing The Mandalorian, and it takes place during the same New Republic era.
First look at Skeleton Crew – and more – from D23
Daniels (Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert) commented on their work on the series – which is already filmed – with Kwan saying on social media: “We love Jon, we love Star Wars, love learning new tech, we love meeting new cast and crew, and we needed the days to keep our healthcare (!!!), so it was an easy yes.”
The duo will direct one episode of the anticipated series.
We expect to hear more – and maybe get a look at the show – during he course of Star Wars Celebration Europe, taking place next month.
