Get ready for the new daily show

So The CW is doing Crisis on Infinite Earths next year… just how BIG could this get?

Well, we can talk about it now, having survived this year’s epic crossover event, Elseworlds.

Yes, The CW’s Arrowverse shows are taking on arguably one of comics’ biggest events next crossover… Crisis On Infinite Earths.

But what does this all mean?

Well, firstly, we’ve know this was coming for a while:

Pretty much from the get-go we’ve known Barry Allen AKA flash would vanish in the Crisis events and the events of this season have seen his daughter, Nora AKA XS, return to meet the father she never knew.

So it’s been signposted well in advance.

What else can we guess? Well, we know that it’s been pointed out in this year’s event that John Diggle is a Green Lantern on one of the other worlds, so we can bet we’ll see the Lantern Corp and likely Diggle will be in there.

We also know that a while ago Stephen Amell, the Arrow himself, teased a meeting with Smallville stars Tom Welling and Micheal Rosenbaum (here) and of corse, we thought it was a hint for Elseworlds, but it seems we may need to wait another year.

We also know that Titans star Alan Ritchson said last week that he believes a Titans/Arrowverse crossover could happen (here).

Plus, the official Krypton Twitter just posted this:

Could this nod to the Multiverse be getting at more? It’s also worth noting that Gotham is heading towards its big finale next year and in there we’re getting comic accurate Riddler and Penguin (here) and guess which Bat-villains were hinted at in Elseworlds? Plus there was a cool nod to The Dark Knight Rises’ Bane (here).

And Stephen Amell has said several time that Black Lightning and Arrow will likely crossover and that Batman is out there, heck Black lightning hints at a bigger universe often enough (here).

On top of all this, waaaaaaaaaaay back before Batman V Superman hit cinemas, Geoff Johns talked about the possibility of the TV and movie universes meeting (here), saying: “Maybe one day we’ll link a show to a film if it makes sense, but the creative process we’re going through right now is to let the stuff live and breathe and be its own thing and own it.”

We know, that all of this is asking a lot, but if The CW has been planning this for years, maybe they were able to talk to other networks and studios… just imagine the possibilities.

One thing we know for sure… this will need more than a three or for episode arc.

One of The Flash’s writers, Sterling Gates had this to say:

What we do know is that in the comics Crisis results in the different worlds clashing and becoming one… could we see the happen with all the shows finally coming to one earth? Time will tell…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
