There are still dozens of unfinished Clone Wars episodes in the Star Wars vault…

If, like us, you’re crying out for more content set in the Star Wars universe and focusing on Boba Fett and Cad Bane after the amazing Book of Boba Fett series or perhaps more Obi-Wan content ahead of the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series (here), then it may shock you to know that that content already exists… you just might never see it.

A few years back Disney+ released what they dubbed the final season of The Clone Wars animated series and it had some of the best Star Wars content we’ve ever seen, with Ahsoka and Maul’s Mandalore ark blowing us away. After that release many fans, us included, believed that was all that was left of The Clone Wars after its untimely cancellation with the last few episodes rounding out the whole package.

But, it seems that is far from the truth.

In 2016 Lucasfilm Story Group’s Pablo Hidalgo revealed that there is a lot – and we mean a lot – of Clone Wars content locked in the Star Wars vault.

How much? Well, according to Hidalgo, there were 13 story arcs left after the release of the so-called final season, with first draft scripts written for both seasons seven and eight. These arcs were all four episodes long.

That’s a lot of unreleased stories and, given Boba’s encounter with Cad Bane in the finale of The Book of Boba Fett and that we already know that Boba and Cad locked horns in the past with Boba giving Bane the metal panel on his head from a head shot and Bane giving Fett the dent in his helmet (see that all here) and we know that this was all set to be told in The Clone Wars along with the training of Boba by Bane, then we reckon now is the perfect time to look at those scripts and to get that new batch made.

Also, given that Anakin, Obi-Wan and Ahsoka were the backbones of The Clone Wars, it seems with Obi-Wan and Ahsoka (here) both getting live-action shows in the near future, there’s a real desire to see these stories told.

So, come on Lucasfilm, get a team together and give us more Clone Wars and, while you’re at it, release Star Wars Detours for a laugh too (here).

What say you all?

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
