We’re finally getting some REAL Lobo news in a corner of the live-action DC universe!

The character has been a near thing so many times in the past with Danny Trejo seeming to want to play him (here), then it seeming he may be set for The CW TV DC universe (here) and then most recently with Michael Bay seemingly set to direct a big screen version (here).

Sadly, none of that really looks likely at this stage but The Main Man is coming to our screens… on Krypton the Superman prequel series which just wrapped season one on SyFy.

We can’t wait to see how he’s portrayed in the show. Here’s the official announcement and scroll down for the Season 2 trailer from SDCC 2018.

Set two generations before the destruction of the legendary Man of Steel’s home planet, Krypton follows Superman’s grandfather (Cameron Cuffe, The Halcyon) — whose House of El was ostracized and shamed — as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos.

Based on DC characters, Krypton is executive produced by David S. Goyer (Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, The Dark Knight trilogy). Cameron Welsh (Ash vs Evil Dead) serves as executive producer and showrunner.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
