Holy crap! It sounds like Spider-man 3 is going to be a real rollercoaster for Marvel fans.
After the reveal last night that Alfred Molina is returning as Doctor Octopus in Spider-man 3 last night (here) and then the reports that Andrew Garfield and Toby Maguire are to return as Spider-men (here) along with Kirsten Dunst as MJ and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy – yes, I’m praying for a Spider-Gwen spin-off movie with Stone, what of it!? – it seems that another major connection to the wider Marvel universe is set to be part of the movie too.
A new report has it that Charlie Cox is set to return as Daredevil/Matt Murdock in the third Spidey outing, returning to the role that he played so perfectly in the Netflix Marvel show.
There’s been a lot of fan rumblings and speculation – yes, we’re guilty too (here) – that Murdock could be Peter Parker’s (Tom Holland) lawyer after his alter-ego was revealed at the end of Spider-man: Far From Home and it seems that this may indeed be what’s happening… presumably before the multiverse opens up and pours characters from the Spider-verse all over the screen.
If this all happens then I’d put money on it we’ll see Deadpool and Venom in there too (here)… but is too much fan service a thing? Let me know your thoughts, gang…
Spider-Man 3 was first pushed back to November 5 and will now bow on December 17, 2021.
I checked – #CharlieCox as #Daredevil IS back in #SpiderMan3
and I can add to the story that he will indeed be Peter Parker’s lawyer!
Feige considered #SheHulk to rep Parker but felt the Daredevil connection in the comics is stronger!
