Mace Windu and a host of characters set for Obi-Wan series appearances?

May 24th, 2020 by Marc Comments

A new rumour has it that we may not be done with Samuel L Jackson’s coolest ever Jedi, Mace Windu yet.

Now, before we go any further, it’s important to remember that while Mace seemingly died after having his arm sliced off, being electrocuted and then thrown out the window of a massive building in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, both star Jackson and creator George Lucas have both confirmed that Windu survived the whole ordeal (here).

Anyway, working on the assumption that Windu survived Order 66 like Obi-Wan, Ahsoka and a handful of others, it seems that he may be set to appear in the Disney+ Obi-Wan Kenobi series in the very near future.

But that’s not all, the series is rumoured to be a real deep-dive into the lore of Star Wars, especially the prequels, with Liam Neeson’s Force Ghost of Qui-Gon Jinn being talked about to appear alongside Ahsoka Tano (who we know will be played by Roasrio Dawson in The Mandalorian Season 2 and is rumoured to be getting her own series (here), so this would make sense), we’re also hearing Jar Jar Binks will appear (here) and that Darth Maul will have a role to play too (here) and with his recent appearance in Clone Wars and Solo: A Star Wars Story, it certainly wouldn’t be unthinkable.

And, as if that’s not enough, we’re also hearing that Hayden Christensen may be appearing as Anakin in flashback scenes set before Order 66 – and Christensen is still looking pretty sharp and could probably pul that off.

This isn’t the first time Christensen has been rumoured to make an appearance in the franchise with his being rumoured to appear in The Force Awakens, Rogue One, The Last Jedi and, most recently (here), The Last Skywalker – we know that JJ Abrams had plans for him to be in The Force Awakens in the early stages (here), so his appearance certainly wouldn’t be completely out of the blue.

The Obi-Wan series would certainly be a great place to bring all these characters back as he was a central part of the story from the beginning to the end, so potentially any character would be fair game…

What say you all? Would you be excited to see all these characters appear in the Star Wars universe again? I know I would… let me know your thoughts, guys.

Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
