Temuera Morrison thinks Boba Fett needs to face Samuel L Jackson’s Mace Windu in Book of Boba Fett season 2

With the Tattooine dust having now settled, we can all ponder… what will happen if/when we get The Book of Boba Fett season 2?

Well, one of the big surprises about the first season was that it featured a Boba we haven’t seen before in the movies, comics, games or shows… a Boba who wants to leave behind his past of killing for money, a Boba who has found a family and sees a way that life can be different for him. But he’s still a Boba who will take no crap from back guys and who is planning on pulling Tattooines’ criminal element into line.

And, for the most part, it worked.

The show proved very divisive, while I personally loved it all, even the silly parts; it was a real deep dive into Star Wars lore, spice dealers, the pikes, the prequels, the new movies, rancors… it’s all in there and Boba pulls so much of it together.

But what next?

The final scene in the series sees Temeura Morrison’s Boba and his righthand man, em, woman, Fennic Shand, played by the wonderful Ming-Na Wen, that perhaps this isn’t the life for him after all, seemingly passing the torch on to the team he built up to stand with him throughout the season.

So, in not this, what?

Well, the series relied a lot on flashbacks and, among them, we saw young Boba – played here by Daniel Logan in flashbacks to Attack of the Clones – dealing with the death of his father, holding his helmet on the battlefield where he died on Geonosis, and how his father left him alone a lot while he lived on the ocean city of Kamino and, while The Clone Wars show saw young Boba deal with his father’s loss and certainly hinted, although never fully explored, where he went next, I have felt that we need to see Boba come face-to-face with his father’s killer, Mace Windu.

Now, I know what you’re thinking… Mace Windu fell to his death after being electrocuted by the Emperor and having his arm sliced off by Anakin in Revenge of the Sith, but look, both Samuel L Jackson and George Lucas himself have said that Mace survived (here) and we have heard rumours that Mace will be in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series (here) and that he may even be getting his own series on Disney+ (here) and Jackson himself kinda teased a return a while ago (here), so it’s not out of the realm of possibility that the weakened and older Mace is out there somewhere and Boba might decide he needs to hunt him down.

And it seems that Morrison himself thinks that his Boba needs closure.

In a new interview, the star talks about a possible season 2 and what might be ahead; he discusses wanting revenge for his father and how Boba was left a lone on that battlefield with his dead father after Windu removed his head from his shoulders: “I owe [Mace] big time for my dad…. I think we’d better let Jon Favreau know that we should have another series and I start looking for Mace.”

Morrison has just shared a new video of himself training (here) after he heard people called him ‘Boba Fat’ after he filmed some scenes topless for The Book of Boba Fett, so is this his way of saying he’s getting back in shape for season 2 and (hopefully) going up against a Jedi this time out? We can but hope.

Oh, and anyone calling him Boba Fat is a) a dick and b) so wrong, Morrison looked all sorts of mean and lean in the series.

Anyways, what say you all? Mace Vs Boba for season 2? Let me know your thoughts, gang.
