Edgar Wright says ‘conversations are being had’ about re-releasing Scott Pilgrim Vs the World game

August 13th, 2020 by Marc Comments

With Scott Pilgrim Vs The World celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, director Edgar Wright is sharing images on his Instagram (below) celebrating a decade of the iconic hero.

We know we reported in May that there was hopes for the video game getting a physical release (here) and there’s rumours of a sequel to the comic book and possible animated project coming too (here) but now Wright is knuckling down and giving more hope that the game is coming.

For those not in the know, the game came out around the same time as the movie but was only as a digital release and fans have been crying out for a physical copy ever since.

On a recent post Wright posted an image from the making of the movie:

When one fan asked him to talk to publisher Ubisoft to re-release the game, Wright replied: “Conversations are being had.”

We know that the movie was set to be back in cinemas around this time had it not been for that damned virus and Wright in really putting the movie – and Scott in general – out into the world, so, if I were a betting man, I’d say this will happen and likely very soon.

So keep your eyes peeled Pilgrims (ha!), because we reckon there’s a lot of fun releases on the horizon.

What say you all? Will you be picking the game up? I want to hear your thoughts, gang.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
